Out of the 61 senators, 60 are of the ruling APC, whereas one is of the Younger Progressives Occasion (YPP), Ifeanyi Ubah.
At a press briefing in Abuja on Saturday, the secretary of the Lawan Marketing campaign Council, Sen Jibrin Barau from Kano State, mentioned solely two of the APC Senators haven't signed to this point.
Although he didn't point out the names, checks by our correspondent revealed that people who didn't signal for Lawan are Sen Mohammed Ali Ndume, who can be a contender for the place, and Mohammed Ibrahim Bomai, who is claimed to be an in depth ally of Ndume.
Talking on the event, Lawan mentioned majority of PDP senators-elect had been with him however that it was strategic to not point out their names.
“Within the PDP, I can guarantee you that now we have between 35 and 38 senators-elect supporting us,” he mentioned.
