Only a day to the election of federal lawmakers into management positions within the nationwide meeting, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as its deputy senate president candidate.
The Nationwide Working Committee (NWC) of the celebration had held emergency conferences on Saturday and Sunday to reach at that call and formally adopted Senator Omo-Agege and Muhammed Idris Wase as deputy senate president candidate and deputy speaker candidate respectively.
“That is sequel to broad consultations with President Muhammadu Buhari, celebration stakeholders, together with APC governors,” the ruling celebration stated.
Its spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu, added: “You'll recall that the celebration had earlier introduced the duo of Senator Ahmed Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila because the celebration’s candidates for the positions of Senate President and Speaker of Home Representatives respectively.
“Members who've earlier signified pursuits in these positions are urged to help the celebration’s choices as loyal and dedicated members of APC by working with different members to make sure the emergence of the adopted candidates.”
