NERC orders suspension of electrical energy provide to VI, Ikoyi, Lagos


Nigerian Electrical energy Regulatory Fee (NERC) yesterday ordered suspension of electrical energy provide to shoppers alongside Trinity Church and Water Company Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Additionally affected are shoppers alongside Upbeat Leisure Centre; Admiralty Street, Lekki Part 1, Lagos;  George Lodge; 30, Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos; Second Toll Gate Plaza; Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, and Ministry of Works and Infrastructure (tolling firm), and Lekki-Ikoyi Hyperlink Bridge, Lagos.

Others embrace Road Gentle, Glover Street, Ikoyi, Lagos; Batequip (Solar Heaven Lodge); Christ Avenue Junction, Off Admiralty Street, Lekki Part 1, Lagos; Motor Boat Membership, Awolowo Street, Ikoyi, Lagos; Lekki Peninsula (Lennos) Mall, 2/three Blk, 10 Admiralty Manner, Lekki Part 1, Lagos; Riverside Properties Restricted, Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, Globe Motors Holding Nigeria Restricted, 37 Cameron Street, Ikoyi, Lagos;  Mr. & Mrs. Bolaji; 33B, Cooper Street, Ikoyi, Lagos.

In accordance with NERC, investigation revealed that Peninsula Unbiased Energy Plant (PIPP) violated situation 7(1)(b) of the phrases and circumstances of its licence by supplying electrical energy to the shoppers with out approval of the fee.

PIPP, the fee stated, shall compensate Eko Electrical energy Distribution Firm (EKEDC) for lack of income for every day electrical energy was equipped to the shoppers in these areas as it’s in contravention of the regulation.

“PIPP is hereby fined in accordance with Part 75 of EPSRA, the sum of N10,000 for every day that electrical energy was equipped to the shoppers listed in these areas as they’re doing so in contravention of the regulation. The fantastic shall proceed till the date of full compliance with this order,” NERC, stated.

PIPP  LVI Genco Restricted is an impartial energy plant, which is servicing some Lagos State public utilities. It not too long ago constructed a $25 million energy plant at Lekki in Lagos and requested for enlargement. Additionally it is proposing to construct about 200 megawatts (mw) of electrical energy plant that might be scattered across the metropolis of Lagos and past.
