Sunday Dare, minister of youth and sports development, has appointed Mary Onyali, former Nigerian sprinter as special adviser on sports.
Prior to the appointment, she was spedial adviser, technical to Gbenga Elegbeleye, former director general of National Sports Commission (NSC).
Onyali also won the 1994 Commonwealth Games 100 meters title.
She won 100m in 1990, 1991, 1995 and 2003. She took bronze medal in 1987.
She won gold medals in 200m in 1987, 1995 and 2003 respectively.
Her consecutive Olympic appearances from 1988 to 2004 made her the first Nigerian to compete at five Olympics.
